The scheme aims to simplify the visa process for international experts in cutting-edge fields such as artificial intelligence (AI), cybersecurity, fintech, robotics, biotechnology, and other high-tech industries.
TechTAS offers a streamlined pathway for eligible companies in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) to recruit non-local talent for research and development (R&D) roles. By reducing bureaucratic hurdles, the scheme allows tech firms to secure skilled professionals swiftly, with visa applications processed within just two weeks.

The programme targets graduates from top-ranked universities specialising in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). However, it also welcomes exceptional candidates with significant industry experience or proven technical expertise. To qualify, applicants must secure a full-time employment offer from a Hong Kong-based tech company with an approved quota under the scheme.
Successful applicants, along with their families—including spouses and dependent children under 18—can relocate to Hong Kong to begin their careers.
