Dangote Refinery Explains Continuous Petrol Price Cuts
The Dangote Petroleum Refinery & Petrochemicals has reaffirmed its commitment to consistently reducing the price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), commonly known as petrol. The refinery attributes these price cuts to improved operational efficiencies and a strategic move to make fuel more affordable for Nigerians.
According to the refinery’s management, the continuous reduction in petrol prices is a result of enhanced production processes and economies of scale achieved since the commencement of operations. These efficiencies have enabled the refinery to lower production costs, which are being passed on to consumers in the form of reduced pump prices.
The management also emphasized that the refinery’s goal is to stabilize the Nigerian fuel market by ensuring a steady supply of high-quality petrol at competitive prices. This move is expected to alleviate the financial burden on consumers and contribute to the overall economic growth of the country.
Industry experts have lauded the refinery’s efforts, noting that the consistent price reductions could lead to increased consumer spending in other sectors, thereby stimulating economic activity. Additionally, the availability of affordable petrol is anticipated to reduce transportation costs, benefiting businesses and individuals alike.
The Dangote Refinery’s initiative aligns with the federal government’s objective of achieving energy self-sufficiency and reducing dependence on imported petroleum products. As the refinery continues to optimize its operations, Nigerians can expect further improvements in fuel affordability and availability.
